Access governance

Virtual assistant tool access map for executive teams

A workflow-based map for granting virtual assistant access without making broad permissions the default.

In this guide
  1. Define the executive support outcome
  2. Match role scope to leadership cadence
  3. Use a structured selection process

Define the role

List the workflow, required action, data sensitivity, system of record, approver, and time period for each access need. Access should follow the work, not the title of the support role.

Set the operating model

Separate viewing, preparing, editing, sending, and approving. Support can often coordinate with less authority than the system makes technically possible, especially around confidential or consequential actions.

Choose with care

Review the map after role changes, workflow changes, and coverage periods. Remove temporary permissions and record exceptions so convenience does not become an undocumented operating model.
