In this guide
  1. Define the executive support outcome
  2. Match role scope to leadership cadence
  3. Use a structured selection process

Define the role

Define acceptance through a real workflow: required context is present, the source of truth is known, access is sufficient but narrow, the next action is clear, and escalation triggers are understood.

Set the operating model

Let the receiving support person practice one representative case under supervision. A completed checklist is not evidence of readiness if the person still has to infer priorities, relationships, or decision rights.

Choose with care

Record open gaps and the owner who will close them before the transition becomes independent. Review the first live period and remove temporary access when the handoff ends.
